What does Grendel represent for the society in which he lives?

1
Also, if you have read Brave New World, what does John represent for his society?

Thanks. [:
The book is called Grendel. Not what you said. And he does become part of a society. A very corrupt one where he becomes disgusted with what he sees. However, he becomes drawn into it like everyone else.
