Why do we live in such an affluent society yet there is so much depression?
America is a financially well-off country. Even though we have our poor areas, they tend to have more material things, food, and resources than many societies in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
Logic would perhaps say that since Americans tend to be better off than the rest of the world, we would be happier. But it seems like depression is everywhere in our society but not necessarily in poor countries overseas.
Thoughts, please?
