How to Survive the Crash of the Economy and Breakdown of Society
Here are a few tips for how to survive the coming financial disaster that has already started and that will lead to a total breakdown of society. Whether you believe it will happen or not, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for the worse. It makes more sense to prepare for the worse and hope for the best than to foolishly think that by ignoring the problem it will go away.
Right now, the economy of the world is in a freefall. The foolish efforts of the governments did more to hurt the economy than can be imagined, but in hindsight, it will be seen and acknowledged that if the business world and corporations had been left alone, they would have solved their own problems.
But that is all hindsight now and we must deal with what is and not what could have been. What is happening is that the economy is breaking down and when it really starts spinning out of control, society will start to fall apart and there will be mob violence, more crime, and need and poverty on an unimaginable scale. For instance, our grocery stores are all parts of chains that are large corporations. When they no longer get the short term credit for funding their payrolls and inventory, they will have to cease operations.
Imagine if all the grocery stores in your neighborhood or town closed? What would you do? Don’t say it can’t happen, why can’t it happen? The government is so far in debt that it can’t buy up all the grocery stores and start running them and even if it could, that would take time. How much food do you have right now? How long will it last?
The fact of the matter is that most people rely almost exclusively on supermarkets for their food whether they eat at home or in a restaurant. Restaurants get their food from suppliers that are parts of corporations and distribute food just like the grocery store suppliers. Everywhere you look, your food is produced, transported, supplied by a large, complicated, corporation that can and will cease operations when things get bad.
If you are starting to see how fragile the system is and understand human nature enough you may see how this will lead to mob violence and hunger and eventually the breakdown of society. It is a pretty bleak picture and you can’t stop the crowd from stampeding once they are spooked and they are spooked, believe me. When the corner bank locks its doors with your money in it, you’ll believe it.
You need to start preparing for how you will supply yourself and family with what you need to survive. Here are a few tips…
1. start stockpiling food that is non-perishable. Store rice and grains in airtight containers and put aside canned goods in a safe place where they won’t freeze.
2. If you have any land at all, even a small patch of land, make plans for how you will grow food on it. Think in terms of food that can be stored easily once you grow it. Root crops and some squash and pumpkins will keep well.
3. Have a strong fence around your garden and plan on guarding it when the crowd, and maybe even your neighbors, start raiding it.
4. You can’t raise everything you need in this world so you will need whatever assets you can manage to hang onto or scrape together to buy what you can’t raise or make. You need a tangible asset that is international currency. Forget about paper money. It will be worthless. Gold is by far the best way to keep some exchange premium on hand that is virtually indestructible, recognized instantly for its value, can be carried in your hand or pocket. Thousands of years ago gold coins were minted and used for currency. Those same gold coins are just as valuable now as they ever were. In the last great Depression gold was still gold and still valuable. Like the fence around your garden, you’ll want to secure your gold as well. I recommend gold coins and a hidden home safe.
