I am a member of a cooperative society in Delhi. An executive member forced me to take LIC policies or Mediclaim policies from him. When I did not agree, he insulted me and threatened me. Now in my need, when i applied for a loan in the society, he is creating problems for me. The society is not giving me loan even though i have completed all the requirements as asked by the society. Can anyone help me? What legal action can I take against that executive member.

In my opinion, its too easy for people to get divorced. Needless to say, some will have legitimate reasons. But too often, people get divorced for such trivial arguements and things its laughable.

Either that or persecution. I’m trying to compare it to the Salem witch trials in the 17th century when many people were accused by children as witches and were hung as a result. Any ideas of prosecution/persecution in modern society based only on suspicion? Could be anything from from recent 100 yrs or so.

Is justice or injustice of a society is measured by the manner in which it handles dissent? In my opinion the justice or injustice of a society is based on multiple factors; besides, one cannot judge an entire society by those who are in power because they do not accurately reflect the entire populace. Am I on the right track?

This could apply to any country so all answers welcome.

As far as I can see the main reasons for having a judicial system of punishment are

- Deterent against offending in the first place
- Provide Justice to victims of crime
- Prevent further offending through sanctions
- Rehabilitation of offenders
- To provide society with reassurance

In an orderly dictatorship, the needs of society are met with what the western world has deemed cruel and unusual punishment. They have lower crime rates, but people (apparently) live in fear.

Many innocent people are being accused of crimes/sins they did not commit. They stay in the jail for years and they are innocent people, so how can society prevent these people from being accused if they are not guilty?
